It is not the aim to discuss all types of non-endemic goitre. As pathogenesis may be overlapping and more than one type may be present in the same patient, a brief look at the 3 main types of goitre is appropriate. These are goitre due to neoplasia, goitre associated with autoimmunity and the main topic of this monograph, multinodular goitre. |
